Obituary for Trevor Presley Vance

Trevor Presley Vance, 29, of Gilbert, AZ passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at 2:30 AM at
Banner Desert Medical Center.
Trevor was born on August 8, 1991 in Apple Valley, CA at St. Mary Medical Center to Daniel and Lillian
Vance. He was baptized at Concordia Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, WI by Pastor Frederick W. Theiste.
He graduated from Mesquite High School in 2010 in which he participated in football, lacrosse, and
other club sports. Trevor worked as a skilled carpenter and in various other trades with the ultimate goal
of becoming a general contractor.
Trevor was known for the special soul that he was. All would agree Trevor was the most loyal, reliable
friend, sibling, and son. Everyone knew that if Trevor was called upon for help of any kind, he would
drop everything and would be there for you without hesitation. He was the definition of selfless and was
kind hearted. He gave without thought for recompence. Trevor had a great wit – he’d also would be the
first to laugh at himself! As well, Trevor was stubborn and you could bank on him to argue his beliefs – it
didn’t even matter if he was right or wrong! Trevor was also known as a ‘walking sports encyclopedia’.
There isn’t a single stat that he couldn’t recite – and that was any sport! You will never meet anyone
who was more open, proud and proclaimed of his love for his country and posed the perfect picture of a
true American.
Trevor was a most unique individual who’s passing will ever be held with sorrow for missing his smile,
hearing his contagious laughter, looking at his astonishing beard, hearing his distinct voice, and all the
endless ways he touched our hearts.
Trevor is preceded in death by maternal grandparent, Charles Grimes; paternal grandparents, Grace and
Charles Vance; and his first beloved friend and pet, Divot.
Trevor is survived by his parents, Daniel and Lillian Vance of Gilbert, AZ; sisters, Hannah (D) Vance of
Meza, AZ and Alanna Vance of Gilbert, AZ; nephew, Rylan Vance; niece, Emery Vance; maternal
grandparents, Nadine and Larry Bauer of Payson, AZ; best friend and pet, Ragnar.
Trevor’s family would like to thank the Gilbert Fire and Police first responders, Banner Desert Medical
Center ER and their intensive care staff for all their love, attention, care, and compassion to Trevor and
his family during this time; with a special thank you to our neighbors, Damon and Jen.
